Robert Allen Wright, 60, of 118 Claysville Taylorstown Ridge Road, Claysville, formerly of Bradford, passed away Friday (Nov. 27, 2015) in Beaver County.
Born Jan. 4, 1955, in Bradford, he was a son of Emma Marie Johnson Wright and the late Norman Wright.
He was a 1973 graduate of Bradford High School.
On June 12, 1973, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged April 24, 1975.
After his military service, he returned to Bradford and worked for Owens-Illinois. In 1977 he was inducted into the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66. He worked for many years with the union throughout Western Pennsylvania and Virginia. At the time of his death, he was working in Western Pennsylvania as an operating engineer for an oil pipeline company.
He was a member of The American Legion.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Rick (Kathleen) Wright of Bradford; a stepson, Shane Ramser and two nieces, Melissa Kirk of Bradford and Tara (Greg) Johnson of Buffalo, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends are invited to call from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue, where a memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., with the Rev. Stacey Fussell, rector of the Church of the Ascension, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
