JOHNSONBURG - Roger E. DeLong, 65, of 501 Elk Ave., Johnsonburg, died Monday afternoon (Aug. 8, 2016) at Pinecrest Manor, St. Marys, following a lengthy illness.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1951, in Ridgway, a son of Charles L. and Florence Forsythe DeLong. On Oct. 5, 1974, in the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, he married Barbara A. Stephenson, who survives.
Mr. DeLong was a Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran, serving as a private first class with Company C. QMS Bde, Fort Lee, Va.
In addition to his wife at home, he is survived by three daughters, Heather DeLong and Mike Curley of Kersey, Lisa (Dan) Sorg of St. Marys, and Stephanie (Aaron) Zemaitis of Cameron, N.C.; four grandchildren, Kylie, Nathan, Michaela and Gwendolynne; three stepgrandchildren, Nichele, Andy and Josie; one great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles "Dale" DeLong; and a sister, Barbara J. DeLong.
Friends may call at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg, on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m., at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Brad Brunner, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church, St. Marys. Burial will be private. Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg Servicemen's Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
