Roscoe J. Brown Jr., 91, of 28 Fairview Heights Road, passed away Saturday (April 13, 2013) at The Pavilion at BRMC.

Born Aug. 24, 1921, in Barnes, Warren County, he was a son the late Roscoe J. and Marie C. Hjelm Brown Sr. On June 10, 1944, in the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, he married Thelma E. Allen Brown, who died on Oct. 23, 1999.
Mr. Brown was a 1940 graduate of Bradford High School. On Sept. 15, 1942, he drafted into the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged a corporal on Oct. 6, 1943. He was a pressure plant operator at Bells Camp for Kendall Refining Corp. for 40 years.
He was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Kendall and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time on Chautauqua Lake.
Surviving are two sons, Bradley N. Brown of Mansfield, and James A. Brown of Bradford; two grandchildren, Eric Brown and Erin Brown; three great-grandchildren, Nathanael Brown, Sophia Brown and Austin Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister, Kathryn Owens.
Family will be receiving friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., East Main Street, where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. David Bunnell, pastor of the Hill Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
