Shirley M. McCracken, 84, of Gifford, passed away, Tuesday (July 19, 2016) surrounded by her loving family, at her residence.

Born May 17, 1932, in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late George and Erla Roche Butcher.
Mrs. McCracken attended schools in Franklin. She loved traveling, watching western TV shows and any John Wayne movie.
She worked as a waitress at the Congress Street Diner for several years.
Shirley is survived by three daughters, Bonnie (Terry Carpenter) Arnett, Margie McCammon, and Collette McCracken, all of Bradford; four sons, Leo (Karen) Mott of Bradford, Henry (Lisa Grimes) McCracken of DuBois, Kevin (Candy Robinson) McCracken of Gifford, and Roger McCracken of Bradford; 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Jacob McCracken; one daughter-in-law, Betsy McCracken; one grandson, Christopher McCracken; one granddaughter Tracy Mott; one sister, Margaret McCool; and one brother, George Butcher.
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., 33 South Ave., from 4 to 6 p.m., at which time funeral and committal services will be held with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor of the Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Winslow Hill Cemetery in Benezette.
