RAVENNA, Ohio - Shirley May Smalley, 70, formerly of Bradford, Pa., passed away in Stow on Saturday (Nov. 2, 2013).

Shirley was born to parents Milo and Mary Rounsville in Bradford on June 11, 1943. She was retired from Evenflo in Ravenna after 17 years of service. Shirley will always be remembered for her kind heart. She called everyone she ever met a friend and had a sweet word and a helping hand for all. Her family was most important to her and she so much enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by many.
Shirley is survived by her sons, William of Kent and Robert of Ravenna and her daughter, Diana (Eric) Stefanchik of Rootstown. Surviving also are her four grandchildren; her sister, Janice Henderson; her sister-in-law, Marge Rounsville; and many nieces and nephews near and far who she loved very much.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Linda; her brothers, William and Richard; and her beloved feline friend, "Lucky."
Family and friends will celebrate Shirley's life at 11 a.m. Nov. 16 at the Salvation Army, 268 W. Main St., Ravenna, Ohio, with Captain Demetrius Stanford officiating.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care of their mother to the nurses and aides of Stow-Glen Retirement Village and Crossroads Hospice.
