Stanley J. "Stash" Myslinski Jr., 82, of 5415 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road, Johnsonburg, died Friday afternoon (Aug. 8, 2014) at Penn Highlands-Elk, St. Marys, following a brief illness.
On Sept. 2, 1961 in Arcade, N.Y., he married Elaine Wolford, who died Jan. 13, 2004.
He was a Korean Era War Navy Vet, serving at sea aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Saipan as an Airman Aviation Ordnanceman. He was later stationed in Trinidad, serving in the Atlantic and Mediterranian. He was later transferred to the 34th Patrol Squadron as an Air Crewman for the ordnance department.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda (Tom) Sampson of Wellsboro, Jean (Frank Vakerich) Falluccchi of Mansfield and Carol (Mark) Shine of Johnsonburg; seven grandchildren, Erin (John) Szentesy, Meghan Henneman, William and Matthew Ross, Kaylee Shine and Emily and Jessica Fallucchi; and two great-grandchildren, Luke and Leah Szentesy.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Stanley J. Myslinski Jr. will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Anthony F Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg.
Military honors will be accorded by the Johnsonburg-Wilcox Servicemen's Detail. Detail members are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m.
