PORT ALLEGANY - Thomas L. Saltsman, 63, of Port Allegany, died Monday (Dec. 8, 2014) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

He was born Nov. 29, 1951 in Renovo, a son of William and Evelyn Royer Saltsman. He was raised by his stepfather, Warren Miller. On Feb. 27, 1971, in Port Allegany, he married Rosemary Chirillo, who survives.
Mr. Saltsman attended Port Allegany High School and worked as a quarryman in local stone quarries.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also a huge Buffalo Bills fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Evelyn (Mike Liebeck) Saltsman of Dayton, Texas, Bobbie Jo (Chris) Poorman and Tina Saltsman, both of Port Allegany; one son, Thomas (Stacy) Saltsman of Dayton, Texas; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a stepbrother, Warren (Karen) Miller of Port Allegany; a stepsister, Sandy Love of Elkland, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, and his stepfather, Warren Miller, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, LeRoy, and James Saltsman, and one nephew.
Fulfilling Thomas' wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 105 N. Main St., Port Allegany, with the Rev. Chris Stavish, pastor of the Open Arms Community Church, Port Allegany, officiating.
