COUDERSPORT - Tillie C. Ludwig, 86, of Austin, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2012) at her home following a lengthy illness.

Born on Oct. 24, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., she was the daughter of Louis and Anna Carrino Celia. She married Boyd Ludwig in Emporium; he died on Aug. 21, 1976.
Mrs. Ludwig was a longtime resident of Austin and was employed for many years as a machine operator for Emporium Specialties Co. She had served with the Women's Army Corps in the 1940s. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a former member of VFW Post 7810 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are one daughter, Juanita (David) Allman of Austin; five grandchildren, Jennifer (fiancé Joseph Johnson) Blimline, Valerie Kriner, Daniel (Wendy) Blimline, Royal (Robert) Evans and Amber Allman; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis (Sarah) Celia of Buffalo and Vito (Edna) Celia in Utah; two sisters, Marie Williams of Cheektowaga, N.Y., and Nina Amaroso of Angola, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, John Lewis Ludwig; and two sisters, Mildred Black and Rosalie Gretch.
Friends are invited to attend Mrs. Ludwig's life celebration beginning with visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fickinger Funeral Home of Coudersport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Portage Township Cemetery in Gardeau.
