PORTVILLE, N.Y. - Timothy C. George, loving husband, father, grandfather, of 66 Portville-Ceres Road passed away Wednesday (Jan. 28, 2015) at home surrounded by his loved ones after a lengthy illness.
Born June 25, 1957, in Olean, he was the son of the late Vernon and Geneva Babb George of Ceres, N.Y. He married the love of his life Helen M. George, who survives.
He was a graduate of Bolivar Central School. He was a cross country track runner. His hobbies were kayaking, puzzling, hiking, and building, but his abilities were not limited. Tim would often say, "Jack of all trades, master of none."
He was employed at Cooper Power Systems for over 30 years as a machinist.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Christian (Marcie) George of Portville, and two daughters Brandy Thompson of Friendship, and Jennifer Rose in Kentucky; stepchildren Melissa (Darren) Reinard, Karrie Page and Cody Page; and he was also blessed with having 17 grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters Carol Barrett of Friendship, Robin (Don) Ripple of Portville, Melody (Claude) Norton of Shinglehouse, Pa., Bonnie (Chris) Babcock of Olean and Rosemary (Bob) Babcock of Shinglehouse; and a brother Raymond Shoup of Indiana.
He was predeceased by a sister Audrey Shoup.
At Timothy's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held for family pending arrangements.
