JOHNSONBURG - Verna Marie Borello, 85, Johnsonburg, passed away Tuesday (June 21, 2016) at her residence.

She was born March 14, 1931, in Ridgway, daughter of the late Raymond McKinley and Thelma Gardner McClintick. She married Salvatore "Sam" Borello on May 6, 1978; he preceded her in death.
Verna was a graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She worked for Stackpole Carbon in the past. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Johnsonburg, Johnsonburg American Legion & the V.F.W. In the past, she had loved to bowl. Verna has lived all her life in Johnsonburg.
Verna is survived by an adopted daughter, Sue (Richard) Thorne of State College, a sister Naomi Ernst of Tonawanda, N.Y., and numerous nieces and nephews, including Kenneth Mendat, Ruth Ann Mendat, Roxann Lester, Timothy McClintick, Rosellen Passell, and Joseph Mazzotto.
Verna was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ione Mendat Stenta and her twin sister Vera McClintick, and one brother Blair McClintick.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Ubel Funeral Home in Johnsonburg, and again on Saturday at the funeral home from noon until 1 p.m., at which point a funeral service will take place 1 p.m. with the Rev. David Wilson as celebrant. Burial will follow in Wardvale Methodist Cemetery.
