William E. Bennett, 67, of 7 Miller St., passed away Wednesday (April 18th, 2012) at Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 8, 1944, in Plummer, he was a son of the late Eugene Harvey and Clara Marie Burt Bennett. On July 20, 1968, in the Church of Christ, he married Carol E. Reynolds Bennett, who survives.
Mr. Bennett was a graduate of Bradford Area High School. He had been employed at Airco Speer, W.R. Case Cutlery & Sons Co. as a boneroom foreman, Upstate Milk as a coolerman, DeSoto Holiday House as a waiter and worked in housekeeping at the Bradford Manor.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jeana M. Bennett-Collins of Bradford; a brother, Wayne Burt of Knox; two granddaughters, Ellen N. Collins and Agnes I. Collins; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Bennett; and five sisters, Marilyn Nolf, Shirley Bolin, Dorothy Bennett, Mary Ostrander and Betty Bickel.
Family will be receiving friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes Inc., South Avenue, where funeral and committal services will follow with Rick Price, pastor of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Willow Dale Cemetery.
