MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - William Picard passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his winter home in Fort White, Fla., on Thursday (April 16, 2015).

He was born April 21, 1932 in Fort Kent, Maine.
After graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in Physics, he began his career in papermaking with the Frazier Paper Company in Madawaska, Maine. In addition to working in the paper industry, he was also a part-time professor at the University of Maine at Fort Kent, Maine. He greatly enjoyed woodworking, making a significant amount of furniture for his home and for family and friends. Nothing gave him more joy than making furniture, clocks, and other wooden items for friends and family. In order to satisfy his desire to continue his woodworking, he maintained two large woodworking shops in Florida and Maine so that he could continue make items for friends in both states.
