KANE - William "Bill" C. VanDervoort, 91, passed away Sunday (May 1, 2016) at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Dec. 11, 1924, in Kane, he was a son of the late Carl and Ryta Vandervort. On Sept. 12, 1964, in Kane, he married Lois Fiscus, who survives.
Bill worked as a painter and wallpaper hanger and later was employed by Stackpole, from which he retired. He was a lifetime member of both the VFW Lodge #1132 and the Dads of the Vets.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Marsha Foster of West Palm Beach, Fla., Ryta VanDervoort of Philipsburg and Karen Weimer of Kane; four sons, Mark VanDervoort of Warren, Gerald "Jerry" VanDervoort of Kane, Carl VanDervoort of Minnetonka, Minn., and Bill VanDervoort in California; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death, besides his parents, are three brothers, John "Bud" R. VanDervoort, Herb Vandervort, and Bob Vandervort; a grandson, Tyke Hulings; and a granddaughter, Asia Weimer.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Cummings Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
