JOHNSONBURG - Mary E. Breakey, 89, of 46 Freedom Drive, Wilcox, died Friday evening (March 14, 2014) at Kane Community Hospital in Kane following a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 5, 1925, in Spangler, a daughter of Aaron and Laura Moyer Folmar. On June 29, 1946, in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, she married LaVerne E. Breakey, who died on July 21, 2009.
Mrs. Breakey had resided in the Johnsonburg-Wilcox area since her marriage. She was a graduate of Spangler High School in 1943. She had worked at the Johnsonburg A&P store and Grant's in St. Marys.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Church and enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her grandchildren and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Mrs. Breakey is survived by a son, Karl A. (Michelle) Breakey of Johnsonburg; five daughters, Bev (Denis) Mowrey of Warren, Donna (Ken) Hinton of Ridgway, Darla (Ted) Klark of DuBois, Kathy FinGado of St. Marys, and Melissa (Steve) Smith of St. Marys; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise Leslie of Elmora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Earl Folmar and Joe Sherry; and sisters, Inez Lobick, Very Sherry, Betty Dindos and Ruth Folmar.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home, 401 Chestnut St., Johnsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg, with the Rev. David Wilson, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
