COUDERSPORT - John K. "Jack" Turton III, 82, of Genesee, passed away Tuesday (April 15, 2014) at Sweden Valley Manor in Coudersport.
Born Dec. 8, 1931, on Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of John K. and Irma Otto Turton II. On Sept. 6, 1954, in Burgettstown, he married Patricia M. Brosky Turton, who survives.
Jack worked for many years at Alstrom of Wellsville, N.Y. He was a member of St. Eulalia Catholic Church of Coudersport, Knights of Columbus, National Rifle Association, Genesee PA Rod and Gun Club, and was an avid hunter.
Surviving are his wife; sons, John (Judi) Turton of Ulysses and Leonard (Janice) Turton of Cannonsburg; daughters, Jacqueline (Dan) Bean of Cranesville, Andrea Turton of Irving, N.Y., and Theresa (Mark) Long of Coudersport; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to Jacks Life Celebration on Saturday with a visitation from 10 a.m. to noon and a service to follow at noon at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home. The Rev. James Campbell will officiate.
