EMPORIUM - Roger B. Clark, 80, of 3251 Rich Valley Road, Emporium, died at Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport, on Tuesday morning (May 20, 2014).
He was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Emporium, a son of the late Otto and Josephine Schager Clark. On Oct. 20, 1956, in St. Michael Church in Clarence, he married Mildred "Millie" McClusick Clark, who survives.
Mr. Clark graduated from the former Emporium High School in the Class of 1951. After graduation, he served an apprenticeship with Sylvania as a tool and die maker, where he continued to work for many years until his retirement. He owned the former Emporium Movie Theatre for many years. Roger served several years as the Shippen Township tax collector. He also worked as a realtor for many years with McBride Realty.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loving husband, father and grandfather. Roger was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, where he had served as a Eucharistic Minister and also as an usher.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Brian (Colleen) Clark of Mechanicsburg, Mark (Joyanne) Clark of Corning, N.Y., David (Jessica) Clark of Clarks Summit, and William (Gina) Clark of Warren; a daughter, June (Joel) Caldwell of Emporium; nine grandchildren, Brian, Timothy, Jasmine, Jada, Philip, Meredith Mariel, Nataly and Anthony; and a brother, John (Linda) Clark of Virginia Beach, Va.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Jackie Clark; and two brothers, Gerald Clark and Major Thomas E. Clark.
Visitation with video tribute will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Barnett Funeral Home, Emporium. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Mark Catholic Church, 235 East Fourth St., Emporium, with the Rev. Paul S. Siebert, pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mark Catholic Cemetery, Emporium.
