Alma Grace Fowler, 81, of Austin, died Friday (May 30, 2014), surrounded by family in her home.

Born July 2, 1932 in Wharton Township, she was the daughter of Alonzo S. and Gertrude R. Dow Mahon. On April 24, 1949, she married John Fowler, who survives.
Alma spent her lifetime in the Austin/Costello area. She attended local schools.
Alma was an active member of the Costello United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities, and she was a dedicated Sunday School teacher.
She had worked at Sylvania in Emporium and Emporium Specialties in Austin, but her true calling was as a homemaker.
Alma is survived by her husband, John; children, John A. (Sandy) Fowler of Austin, Victor L. (Donna) Fowler of Port Allegany, Pamela R. (Thomas) Glover of Austin, Kathy J. Dow of Austin and Jeffery B. (Betsy) Fowler of Austin; brothers, Leonard Mahon, Ernie Mahon, Russell Mahon and George Mahon; sisters, Jean Nasto, Beverly Luce and Gloria Jones; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Fred Mahon.
Friends and family are invited to Alma's Life Celebration at 1:30 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Steven Small and the Rev. Nathan Luce, pastors, co-officiating at the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home Ltd., "A Life Celebration Home," at 210 North East St., Coudersport. A luncheon at the Austin United Methodist church will follow.
Donations in her name may be made to the Patterson Cancer Center in Coudersport or to the Costello United Methodist Church.
