EMPORIUM - Max L. Lininger Jr., 54, of Bethlehem, died Friday (July 4, 2014) in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.

Born Feb. 14, 1960, in Lock Haven, he was the son of Max L. Sr. and Janet Campbell Lininger.
He was a 1978 graduate of Cameron County High School and continued his education at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
Locally, he was employed by Solveson Contracting of Emporium and Pesces Fabricating in St. Marys. For many years he traveled for work with Fleming Building Co. and was currently a licensed crane operator with SmitHahn Company Inc. of Bethlehem.
A former member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Emporium, he enjoyed coming back to Emporium during hunting season and for the holidays, was an avid NASCAR and model train fan and was a member of the Protective Fraternal League of St. Marys.
In addition to his mother Janet of Emporium, he is survived by one sister, Michele (Mike) Rodich of Emporium; and a niece and two nephews, Mallory Rodich and Matt Rodich, both of Emporium, and Daniel Earlywine of Washington, Pa.
He was predeceased by his father, Max Lininger Sr.; and a sister, Martha Ellwood.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the Coppersmith-Condon Funeral Home, Emporium, where funeral and committal services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Paul Siebert, pastor of St. Mark Church in Emporium, officiating.
