Carol Sambol Obituary
Born June 16, 1940, in Houtzdale, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes Lucas Crago.
She served 37 consecutive years on the Baden Borough Council. She was a member of the board of directors and was past president of the Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs and served on its executive committee. She was also a charter and board member of PIRMA Insurance board of municipalities, and served on the board of Pennsylvania One Call. She was a member of the Baden American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Baden.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery (Pam) Sambol of Bradford; two daughters, Sharon Sambol and Toni Lynn Sambol, both of Baden; two grandchildren, Jessica Sambol of Baden and Kevin Sambol of Bradford; and two great-grandchildren, William Sambol and Arabella "Bella" Sambol.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony.
Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Thursday for a Memorial Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Linmore Avenue, Baden.
The Bohn-Matich Funeral Home Inc., Ambridge, is in charge of arrangements.

My wife Judy and I met Carol years ago through our Membership on the PA One Call Board. Carol was always very caring and treated us like family. She was especially kind to my wife, who did not know anyone else early on. Carol was passionate about her work, and was an inspiration. We will miss her greatly. My name is James Gallucci. I am the Mayor of the Boro of West Leechburg, Westmoreland County. I met Carol some 30 years ago. We have become very good friends, and I respected her very much, She had given me great advice, about the world of local politics. We talked at every conference. I will, as will all that knew her. miss her very, very much. She was a great lady. She will remain in my prayers. God Bless Her.

I met Carol several years ago, when I became a member of the Pennsylvania One Call Systems (POCS) Board of Directors. Carol was a pleasure to talk with and always willing to take time to talk to new Board members, as well as anyone else. The thing that I appreciated most about her was her passion for those she represented. She was a joy to be around and a valued asset to POCS as well as her constituents.
God's blessings upon her family and friends . . . for strength and peace.
