Alice Alma Joslin

1916-2012 Alice Alma Joslin, 96 passed away peacefully Monday August 6, 2012 at Thompson House surrounded by her family and staff members.

She was born May 1, 1916 in West Wardsboro, Vt., daughter of Charles and Augusta (Selfous) Hescock.

Alice worked as a Cook at Logging Camps and she helped with her husband's Logging Business by driving the Skidder. She also worked at Vernon Green, the Brattleboro Retreat and the Candy Kitchen of Putney.

Alice was known for her famous card games, she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and her flowers.

Alice is survived by, her daughter Christine Forbes of Brattleboro, one brother, Carroll Hescock of Norton, Vt., 13 Grandchildren , 20 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles Joslin on Sept.7, 1988 and her daughter Joyce Kaiser in 1986, and her two sons, Lee in 2009 and Donald in 2010.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services will be held in the West Wardsboro Cemetery on Friday August 10, 2012 at 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Activities Fund at the Thompson House, 80 Maple St. Brattleboro, VT.

Arrangements are under the care of the Ker-Westerlund and White Funeral Home.
