Elbert "Bert" A. Lynde

1934 - 2014 BRATTLEBORO Elbert "Bert" A. Lynde, 79, of 274 Barton Rd, Greenfield, Mass., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at the Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. He was born in Guilford on Nov. 17, 1934, the son of Elbert and Clara (Worden) Lynde. He attended local schools in Brattleboro. Bert joined the Air Force in 1952, and served two terms. He was a commercial driver for the Brattleboro Havlage and for BH Trucking for 20 years. Prior to that, Bert built modular homes. Bert loved animals, especially dogs and horses. He was a car collector. Bert enjoyed riding his horses and working on the home he and his wife, Karen, built in Leyden. Besides his wife of 20 years, the former Karen Flo, Bert leaves his brother, Kenneth Lynde of Guilford; his sister, Eva Harris of Brattleboro; his granddaughter, Lauren Lynde of Greenfield, and several nieces and nephews. Bert was predeceased by two sons, Tony and Edward Lynde, and by his siblings, Helen Dix, Grace Stebbins, Doris Barber, Mowry Lynde, Karl Lynde and Alice Lynde. FUNERAL NOTICE: At Bert's request, there will be no funeral services or calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the .
