John N. Billington Sr

1941-2013 DUMMERSTON John Billington, 72, died Wednesday November 13, 2013. He grew up in Narberth, Pa., was the third son of Nelson and Jane Billington, and resided in Rosemont, Pa. for most of his life. John attended Lower Merion H.S., Lycoming College and served in the Army from 1962 to 1965. John taught history at various private schools in his early career and later worked in financial services, then retired and moved to southern Vermont to be closer to his children. John was a gifted conversationalist who engaged people wherever he went and loved to share history, hear people's stories and stimulate laughter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Billington; his children, Kate and John; his son-in-law, Josh Traeger and daughter-in-law, Stacey Billington; his brothers David and James and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Nov. 23rd at St. Michaels Episcopal Church, Brattleboro, Vt.. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lycoming College Fund in Memory of John Billington '67
