Ralph Elwood Atkins

1918-2014 Ralph Elwood Atkins of Westminster West Vermont died Sunday March 30, 2014 at Vernon Advent Christian Home. Born in Providence, RI October 12, 1918 he grew up in West Peru Maine where his family had lived since 1753. A machinist toolmaker by trade Ralph served in the merchant marine during WWII and then worked as a manufacturing equipment salesman in the New York City area. He lived in New Jersey for 50 years and was active in his church, leading prayer groups and visiting hospital patients. Ralph is survived by his brother Donald Atkins of Rhode Island, son in law Donald Aldrich of Westminster West, grandchildren Stephen, Jonathan, Zachary and Emily, great grandchildren Harrison and Eliza. He is predeceased by his wife Mary Hamill Atkins, a brother Howard and his daughter Nancy Atkins Aldrich. MEMORIAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held at the Congregational Church of Westminster West on Saturday April 5 at 1:00PM.
