Dear Debby, Diane and David,
You father was leading the times in ways other than in the dairy world. He was walking for health long before it became cool in the 80's. He was so cheery in the mornings before the invention of coffee. He taught me to use the greeting "Hey" instead of "Hi". His walking five miles on Sunday mornings to the country store to get Cruller's donuts for the whole extended family exemplified the value of working to get what you want, even if its one of life's little pleasures. That's my Uncle Maurice.

Dear Debbie, Diane and David,
In the late '60s, as a member of the Holstein Board of Directors, I met and worked with your father when he first came to Holstein as Director of Classification Services, especially entrusted with guiding the refinement and implementation of the then revolutionary world's first Descriptive Classification Program. Maurice provided the perfect combination of common sense, innovation, integrity and people skills in working with a series of forward looking Holstein boards, dedicated classifiers, loyal employees and enthusiastic membership.
Later, as Vice President and President, I had the opportunity to work with your father as he assumed the leadership of Holstein's International efforts. Again, Maurice was the right man at the right time, sharing his rare combination of enthusiasm, substance and human sensitivity throughout the world on behalf of the thousands of Holstein members.
Your mother's lifetime support and behind the scenes contributions were a key component in making it possible for Maurice to devote so much of his energy and effort in positively impacting the lives of others. Alice's involvement in developing the first Holstein Women's Cookbook and in helping found the National Holstein Women's Scholarship effort has similarly touched the lives of many Holstein families.
Your father and mother were truly remarkable people who contributed greatly in making "Holstein" of that era one of the dairy industry's greatest success stories.
Shirley and I were blessed and honored by having had the opportunity of knowing and working with them.

Mr. Mix was a great guy and very devoted to his wife, Alice. His love for her was ever present as was his love and pride for his children.

May your memories sustain you as you go through this difficult time. He was a wonderful man that I had the honor and priviledge of knowing through Centre Church. He will be missed by all.

Dear Debby, Diane, and David,
We were saddened to hear about your Dad. He was a great guy and we were privileged to know him. We so enjoyed our good times over the years with him and your mom and the "Investment Club".
He will be missed - but his memory will endure.
Our love to you all.
