John was the Inshapes hero for our garden. We will definitely miss him more than anyone can say. We were devastated to hear such sad news but in John's memory we will keep the garden growing. Our thoughts our with his wife and sons and grandchildren as he spoke of them so proudly. God love you John!!! From all of us at Inshape in Keene, N.H.

I was saddened to learn of John's passing. We were friends in Brooklyn and at Manhattan College. We played a lot of basketball and drank a lot of beer together. Who can forget the summer at the "Slanty Shanty" in the Rockaways? Mostly what I will remember John for is how he made me laugh.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

There are no words to express the depth of our loss, but John would probably have found the right book to help us express the best sentiment. We will deeply miss John and send our love to Dierdre and his son's, John and Matthew, and their families. Sincerely, Dennis and Kathryn Cote and family
