Adele Rehbein Obituary
Adele A. Rehbein

1925-2015 On Sunday, January 25th, Adele A. Rehbein passed away in Vernon, Vermont of natural causes. Adele was 90 years old. Born in New York City on January 7, 1925, daughter of the late Frederick and Anna Englert, she met and married Robert (Bob) Rehbein in 1942. Adele and Bob spent the next several years living around the country during World War II supporting the war efforts while Bob was in the United States Air Force. After the war, Adele and Bob lived in New York City and started raising their two sons, Robert (Bobbie) and Roger. Adele was active at the time in Order of Eastern Star Maspeth Chapter and named Matron in 1959. Adele, Bob and their two sons moved to Brattleboro, Vermont in 1960. Once in Vermont, Adele was the bookkeeper for R&M Supplies, a division of R.S. Roberts, in Brattleboro, until her retirement in 1987. After retirement, Adele and Bob moved to Florida for many years, relishing the sunshine as snow birds before returning to Vermont full time to be with their family. Adele enjoyed being outdoors spending many hours cruising, boating, fishing, and snowmobiling with friends although her favorite pastime was traveling around the country with her husband on their Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. Adele was a member of Union Congregational Church in West Brattleboro, an avid reader, and enjoyed counted cross-stitch projects. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy and she was so proud of what they achieved with her unconditional love and support. Adele is survived by her husband, Bob Rehbein; two sons, Bobbie and Roger Rehbein; daughter-in-law, Susan Rehbein; granddaughter, Casandra Rehbein Clark; four grandsons, Jess, Erich, Jay and Matthew Rehbein; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson, Erich and Brady Clark; Clover, Sydney and Jacob Rehbein. The family especially thanks the caregivers at Vernon Hall and Vernon Green Nursing Home who provided so much comfort to Adele in her later years. The family will have a private memorial service honoring their beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In lieu of flowers, donations in Adele's memory can be made to Vernon Green Nursing Home or Windham County Humane Society.
