Alexander "Sascha" Kruedener-Struve, Jr.

1941 - 2015 JAMAICA Alexander "Sascha" Kruedener-Struve, Jr., 74, of North Lamphear Road, passed away Friday morning, August 21, 2015 at his home. Alex was born in Berlin, Germany on March 26, 1941, the son of Alexander Kruedener-Struve, Sr. of St. Petersburg, Russia and Soja Vera (Kalnitzky) Zsche-ntzsch of Berlin, Germany. Alex and his family moved to the United States when he was ten years old, settling in New York City. Alex has been a long-term member of Screen Actors Guild. He was a baritone and performed with the Village Light Opera Group (VLOG) in New York City, toured as a member of The Don Cossack Chorus and worked as a model and an extra in movies. He later gave up his singing and acting career so he could support his mother who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease at a very young age. Alex then worked for New York Telephone/NYNEX until he retired in 1995. He was the Editor/Publisher of Schober Organ Notes and had many hobbies including photography; collecting and repairing antiques, tube and transistor radios, cameras, clocks and organs; and was a skilled electrician. Alex was outgoing, loved people, had a great sense of humor and loved to give people gifts. Alex is survived by his partner of 47 years, George S. Hoye of Jamaica, Vt., their beloved dog, Rex, several cousins and his godmother, Irene Liszewski of Janesville, Wisconsin. Committal Rites and burial will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in South Hill Cemetery in Jamaica, Vt. Memorial contributions in Alex's name may be made to: , Vt.
