1952 - 2015 STOCKBRIDGE, GA Allan O. Orkins died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 in Stockbridge after a lengthy illness. A spiritual man, he was born May 14, 1952, and raised in Brattleboro, the son of Allan O. Orkins Sr. and Mary (Orkins) Scott. He was a trucker most of his life, but his true passion was music. He followed in his father's footsteps writing songs and playing guitar. Two of his songs were sung by country singer Howard Salmon on his CD "These Trucks are Made of Gold" including the title song and "Give Me Fair Warning." He is survived by his life partner, Pam Yeiser of Stockbridge, son, Jesse Allan Orkins, brothers, Robin Orkins of Lyman, S.C. and Randy Orkins of Lake Worth, FL, and grandson, Jordan Orkins. Also surviving is Jessica Nuelle whom he raised as his own daughter along with grandsons, Eli and Levi Allums. plus nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary (Orkins) Scott in 2014, father, Allan O. Orkins Sr., in 2002, and brother, Lonnie A. Orkins in 1978. SERVICES: There will be a celebration of his life at Meeting House Hill Cemetery, Orchard St., Brattleboro, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4. 2015.
