Barbara Roy Bellville

1930 - 2014 VERNON Barbara Roy Bellville, 83, a resident at Vernon Green Nursing Home, formerly of Melrose Terrace, died early Saturday morning, April 26, 2014, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bellville was born in Ashuelot, N.H. on Sep. 6, 1930, the daughter of Adonias and Lillian Stone Roy. She was raised and educated in Ashuelot where she attended Thayer High School. She had been employed as a teacher's aide at Brattleboro Union High School where she retired from, following 20 years of service at the high school. She was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed time shared with her family. Mrs. Bellville was also an avid reader. On Jan. 18, 1948, in Ashuelot, she was married to Armond Bellville, who predeceased her on June 21, 1994. Survivors include a son, Bruce Bellville of Hinsdale; two daughters, Sharyn Bellville of Memphis, Tenn. and Jennifer Ray of Beaufort, S.C.; two brothers, William Roy and Joseph Roy; three sisters, Beverly Moore, Lorraine Lechlider and Cynthia Roy; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Bonni Clews, who died in 2010, and two brothers, Dennis and James Roy. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside committal services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Christ Church Cemetery in Guilford, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. A reception will follow the services, to be held at the Elk's Home on Putney Road, everyone is invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Bellville's name may be made to Vernon Advent Christian Home, 61 Greenway Drive, Vernon, VT 05354-9474.
