Becky A. Atwood Obituary
Becky A. Atwood, 77, died peacefully at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center on Saturday, July 1, 2017.

She was born on May 8, 1940, eldest daughter of Raymond F. and Ruth White Griggs. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1958, and married Caleb F. Atwood from Plainfield, NH. They moved to a dairy farm in Westminster, VT where her kids were raised and she later moved to Bellows Falls, VT.

She loved to cook, sew and knit. Many of these skills she taught as a local 4-H leader. There were often extra people for meals and always extra children. She happily fed them all. She also loved to swim and was known for taking carloads of children to the Westminster swimming hole to teach them how. Once her kids were grown she worked as a cook at T-Bird Mini Mart in Bellows Falls VT. In later years she worked as an LNA, giving much compassion to all under her care. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She spent hours baking cookies, playing games and just enjoying their antics.

She is survived by her loving family Kelly (Rick) Clough, South Ryegate, VT; Bryan (Carolyn) Atwood, Bellows Falls VT; Sherry (Sam) Gifford, Wendell Depot, MA; Caleb Atwood and Fiance Jacques, Chesterfield, NH; two sisters Paula Tucker, Concord NH; Lorraine Varnese, Plainfield NH; two step-brothers Edson Keith, Farmington, NH; William Keith, West Lebanon NH; nine grandchildren Justine (Mark) Anderson, Vernon VT; Jacob (Rachel) Clough, South Ryegate VT; Sam Atwood, Easton PA; Joseph (Betsy) Clough, Cambridge VT; Joanne Chickering, Westmoreland NH; Jessica Chickering, Westmoreland NH; Suzanne Chickering, Westmoreland NH; Jared Atwood, Westminster VT; Sarah Atwood, Westminster VT; two step grandchildren Melissa (Tyler) Haskell, Bellows Falls VT; Mason Emerson, Bellows Falls VT; and six great grandchildren Lydia, Anna, Seth and Issac Clough and Riley and Reece Haskell. She also leaves behind two very special aunts; Polly Kelley and Gerri Griggs; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Becky was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Ruth Griggs, her step-father, Edson Keith and her sister, MSG Deborah Bingham.
