BRATTLEBORO Bernice F. Chamberlin, 104, formerly of Sunset Lake Road, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 18, 2015 at Bradley House where she had been a resident for the past 10 years. She was born in Buckland, MA on July 23, 1910, the daughter of Daniel and Nina (Clark) Fairbanks. Mrs. Chamberlin moved to Guilford in 1911 and to Brattleboro in 1922. She was a graduate of Brattleboro High School, Class of 1928 later attending the Brattleboro Business Institute (branch of Bay Path) where she graduated in 1931. On October 4, 1941 in West Brattleboro she was married to Thomas Chamberlin, son of Morris and Emma Chamberlin. Her husband of 43 years predeceased her on February 17, 1985. Survivors include one daughter, Bernita Wheelden and her husband, Stuart of Hinsdale, one son, Bruce Chamberlin and his wife, Eileen of Stoneham, MA, a grandson, Todd Page and his wife, Jamie of Rock Hill, S.C., and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one daughter, Brenda, in November of 2006 and a sister, Irene Smith in October of 2005. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside committal services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in West Brattleboro Cemetery on Mather Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Chamberlin's name may be made to the Bradley House, 65 Harris Ave., Brattleboro, VT 05301. Mrs. Chamberlin's family wish to convey their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the entire staff and management of Bradley House for their outstanding care and compassion shown during Bernice's 10 year stay at the home.
