Carolyn R. Coleman
1939-2013 WILLIAMSVILLE Carolyn Ruth Coleman, 74, of Timson Hill Road, passed away December 3, 2013 at Valley Cares Assisted Living in Townshend. She was born in Brattleboro on January 11, 1939, the daughter of Merton and Margaret (Masterson) Coleman. Carolyn graduated from Brattleboro High School at the age of 16 and went on to receive degrees from both Smith and Radcliffe colleges. Carolyn spent her career teaching higher mathematics at Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven, Conn. However, Carolyn called Williamsville home and spent most weekends and summer vacations in her family home. She enjoyed many pastimes that included family genealogy, Vermont history, tutoring local students, gardening, painting, the birds and caring for her beehives. Carolyn had many friends, neighbors and family who enjoyed her wonderful wit and hospitality. We will all miss her dearly. A brief Graveside Committal Service will be conducted Sunday at 1 p.m. in Williamsville Cemetery on Depot Road. A memorial gathering will follow to be held at the Newbrook Fire Station.
