Connie Sanderson Obituary
WESTMINSTER - Connie Santoli Sanderson of Westminster, passed away on November 2, 2016. She was born in Mineola, New York on September 29, 1953, the son of William and Elizabeth Santoli. In 1976, she and her late husband, Lee Sanderson, moved to Vermont where they raised their son, Todd. Connie joined Kurn Hattin Homes for Children in 1988. She started as a volunteer, reading bedtime stories to children, before taking a full time position in the development office. Two years later she assumed the leadership role in the department. She spent the next 27 years working tirelessly to raise money to help disadvantaged children find a better life. She proved to be an invaluable force there, serving in multiple leadership capacities and always striving to make Kurn Hattin Homes a safe and wonderful place for children. Connie retired from Kurn Hattin in 2015. She stayed on part time, working with major donors and also continued her work as Board President for Westminster Cares, an organization dedicated to helping seniors and disabled adults lead healthy independent lives. Connie lived a rich and full life, and will be missed by everyone who came to know and love her. She was an amazing mother, an amazing mentor and has changed the lives of countless people young and old. She leaves her son Todd, daughter-in law Bethany and cherished granddaughter Audrey. She leaves her mother Elizabeth Santoli and her siblings Carol (Joseph) Franck, John (Lucille) Santoli, Peter (Donna) Santoli, Georgene (Dennis) Dixon, Barbara Jean (David) Kayen and Irene (Patrick) Dunn. She also leaves numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her husband, Lee Sanderson, father, William Santoli and sister, Rose Derancy. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 3, at 10:30 am, at Kurn Hattin Homes in Westminster, VT.
