1972-2013 BRATTLEBORO Craig Roy Schopman, 40, of Brookwood Drive in West Brattleboro died unexpectedly Thursday, January 10, 2013 at his home.

Craig was born in Brattleboro on October 30, 1972 the son of Roy and Martha (Robertson) Schopman. He attended Brattleboro public schools and was a graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1991. He went on to attend Vermont Technical College in Randolph Ctr.

At the time of his passing he had been employed as a selector for C&S Grocers Wholesale in Brattleboro where he joined the company in 1993.

Craig cherished time spent with his two sons Elias and Brady who both reside at home in Greenfield, Mass. He also enjoyed off road four wheeling with his jeep and time spent in the outdoors. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Besides his two sons he is survived by his father of West Dover and his mother of Warwick, R.I., one sister, Katherine "Kate" Bronner and her husband Robert and their daughter Ella also of Warwick, his aunt and uncle, George and Joan Quist of Spring Hill, FL, aunt Claudia Newbold of Menlo Park, CA and several cousins.

Additionally he leaves a large host of close friends.

FUNERAL NOTICE: There are no formal funeral services scheduled. Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. A reception will follow the calling hours to be held at the Elk's Home on Putney Road.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Craig's name may be made to a special educational trust fund established to benefit his two sons. Checks should be made payable to Edward Jones, FBO Elias & Brady Schopam, 225 Main St., Suite #1, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
