1936 - 2015 BROOKLINE, VT Dorothy "Dot" May Chabot (nee Barrows), 79, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend after a short battle with congestive heart failure. Dot was born on June 4, 1936 at home in Pascoag, RI to William and Florence (Whitaker) Barrows, the youngest of three children. She married Roger Chabot in Woonsocket, RI on March 22, 1958, and they celebrated 34 happy years together before he passed in July 1992. Dot completed her nurse's training in Milford, MA and worked for many years as a nurse, finishing her career at Medway Country Manor in 2001. She moved from Massachusetts to Brookline, VT when she retired where she made many new friends. She traveled with her children frequently, visiting England, Scotland, Germany, Alaska, New Orleans, the Bahamas, Maryland, Florida, Texas, and Las Vegas. Her first greatest joy was being surrounded by her six children, their spouses, and her seven grandchildren. Dot loved eating, particularly Chinese food, and was often heard to ask "what's for suppah?" when eating breakfast! She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing Scrabble, attending senior meals with her friends, and singing in the choir at the Congregational Church in Newfane, VT. Dot is survived by her six children and their spouses and her seven grandchildren, daughter, Liz Parker and husband, Mark Parker; son, Stephen Chabot and wife, Lisa Chabot and their children, Charlie and Olivia; daughter, Cindy Chabot and husband, Martin Fowler; son, David Chabot and wife, Paula Chabot and their children, David Jr. and Emily; son, Chris Chabot and wife, Robin Chabot and their children, Sam, Katie, and Jean Paul; and daughter, Sue Gibeault and husband, George Gibeault. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger, but has now joined her "forever honey." FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 3p.m. at the Newfane Congregational Church with Pastor Robert Hamm and Rev., Dr. George Nye officiating. A reception will follow the services. Friends are invited to call at The Atamaniuk Funeral Home Friday from 6 to 8p.m. Committal Services and burial will be held Sunday at 1p.m. in the Chabot family lot in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Medway, Mass. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mrs. Chabot's name may be made to Grace Cottage Hospital, c/o Dr. Robert Backus, P.O.
