1947 - 2016 GUILFORD Edith L. Morse, 69, of Barney Hill Road, died peacefully Thursday morning, May 19, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Edith was born in Glens Falls, NY on May 17, 1947, the daughter of the late Reverend Charles and Mary Lou (Lewis) Bentley. After residing in various locations, she attended and graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1965. She had been employed at G.S. Precision in Brattleboro for many years and previously had worked at Leader Home Center in West Brattleboro. Edith enjoyed cross stitching, going on day trips and time shared with her family, especially her grandchildren. She married William L. Morse on May 16, 1981 in Hinsdale, NH. Besides her devoted husband of 35 years, she leaves her mother, Mary Lou of Vernon; two sons, Craig Pratt and his fiancee, Kelly Mattson of Chester, VT and Jeremy Morse of Brattleboro; one daughter, Michelle Penza and her husband, Eric of Sunderland, MA; one brother, Marvin Bentley of Wardsboro, VT; and two sisters, Rene Johnson of Guilford and Victoria Jackson of San Antonio, TX. Additionally she is survived by her four grandchildren, Danny and Chris Penza, and Tylar and Jazmin Morse, and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday (5/28) from 12 noon until 4:00 p.m. at the Morse home, 1263 Barney Hill Road, Guilford. Burial will be in Maplehurst Cemetery in Guilford at a later date.
