1932 - 2015 VERNON Edward J. "Eddie" Augliano, 83 of Stebbins Road, passed away early Sunday morning, April 12, 2015 at Vernon Green Nursing Home. Mr. Augliano was born in Watertown, NY on February 4, 1932 the son of Nicholas and Harriet (Barcomb) Augliano. He was educated in Brattleboro attending Saint Michael's High School. He later enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He had worked most of his career as an electrician, employed for many years at UMass in Amherst where he retired from. He also worked at Vermont Yankee and at Northfield Mount Herman. For over 10 years he served as a deputy sheriff with the Windham County Sheriff's Department under Sheriff William Graham. On June 22, 1957 at Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church he was married to Elka Golling who survives. Besides his faithful and loving wife of 57 years, he is survived by several nieces, nephews, his extended family in Watertown, NY and a host of friends. Additionally he leaves his beloved pet cat, "Missy." Mr. Augliano was predeceased by one brother, Benny Augliano and a sister, Catherine "Dolly" Leone. In keeping with Mr. Augliano's final wishes there are no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Tyler Cemetery in Vernon. Memorial contributions in Mr. Augliano's name may be made to the Windham County Humane Society, P.O. Box 397, Brattleboro, VT 05302.
