Harold G. "Bing" Winter Sr.
1933-2012 Harold G. "Bing" Winter, Sr., 79, died peacefully in his sleep early Wednesday morning, Aug. 15, 2012.
He was born June 7, 1933 in West Chesterfield, N.H., to Hermon and Mayolyn (Farnham) Winter, and was educated in Brattleboro schools. In 1951 he married Hazel Willard. They had six children.He worked in the Brattleboro area his entire life, for Clarks Ash Mill, Cersosimo, A.L. Root, B.K.D. Corp., D.J.'s Inc., BDR Transport, Junie Whidden, Boyce Trucking, and Wayside Fence, 50 years 18-wheeler driving. An avid bowler, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather, and uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Hazel; his six children: Georgia Boyce and husband Jim; Daniel Winter, Patricia Bell and husband Ed; Harold Winter, Jr. and wife Carol; Thomas Winter, Richard Winter and girlfriend Rita; two sisters Mayolyn Arsenault of Wardsboro and Ruth Perkins of Brattleboro; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a half brother Carrol Foley, half sister Bernice Moffet, brothers Hermon, Roswell, Cleon, Robert, and a loved daughter-in-law Nancy Winter.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Visiting hours are Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Ker Westerlund Funeral Home from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. in West Brattleboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to "Nancy's Angels" in care of Chery LaFlam, 268 Chesterfield Road, Hinsdale, NH 03451.
