Helen M. (Patrick) Byrk Obituary
South Britain – Helen M. (Patrick) Bryk, 60 years young, sadly passed away after two months at Danbury Hospital Wednesday, Jan. 13th with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Mitchell Bryk. She was a trooper and stayed STRONG. She wanted to fight and come back home, but as strong as she stayed and tried, her illness took her away way too soon. Helen was born November 6, 1955, in Danbury, a daughter of the late Wallace D. and Patricia (Stannard) Patrick Sr. She attended Southbury schools and over the years worked at South Britain Manufacturing, WPM/Neoperl in Waterbury and most recently at Charcoal Chef in Woodbury, where she thoroughly loved her job and the people within and found enjoyment and enrichment. She was an active member of the Southbury Ladies Auxiliary and in Bellows Falls, VT was a member of the Polish/American Club and the American Legion. She enjoyed bingo, the casino, tag sales, and camping. Above all, spending time with family and friends was her greatest joy. Helen was an angel who loved life. Once you met her, you saw her kind/giving heart and a loving, caring way about her. She was a gift to many and very sadly taken too soon. Helen will be missed by so many. Always remember: "Once touched by an angel is a gift for life." Helen was our gift and angel and for that we are so very thankful and blessed. We are all lost, but will always keep Helen "Hen" in our hearts. Besides her husband, Mitch, of 34 years, she leaves three sisters, Holly Patrick, of South Britain, with whom she and Mitch shared her home, Heather Patrick and her wife, Jessie Bacon of VT and Heidi Patrick of VT, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Kee. She was predeceased by her brother, Wallace "Chub" Patrick Jr. and her nephew, Timothy "T" Gutwald. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held Monday, Jan. 18th from 3 to 5 p.m. in the chapel of Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South Southbury. A prayer service will follow in the church at 5 p.m. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southbury Ladies Auxiliary/Southbury Volunteer Firemen's Association, PO Box 911, Southbury, CT 06488; or Make A Wish Foundation.
