James E. Waryas Obituary
James E. Waryas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, died Sunday night at his home in Athens, VT on April 8, 2018, at the age of 66 due to complications from cancer.

One of five children, Jim was born on July 13, 1951 in Bellows Falls, VT to Stanley and Elizabeth Waryas. Jim enlisted in the Army after graduating from Bellows Falls Union High school class of '69. He served for 4 years as an E5 Sergeant in the Army Security Agency, and one year in the National Guard before honorary discharge in 1974. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, he met and married his wife, Emiko, and they eventually settled in Athens, VT where he started and ran his own general construction company, building houses and furniture before retiring in 2011.

While taken from his family and friends too soon, Jim lead a full and happy life. He was able to make several trips with his wife to visit family in Okinawa, Japan, visits with friends in Florida and numerous hunting and fishing trips with his friends. Jim had a passion for cars and along with buying and selling vehicles, he restored several classic cars and was often found working out in his garage on his next hobby.

His sense of humor, generous spirit and easy going attitude will be missed by many. He is survived by his wife and two children, Alicia Brandon and Charles Waryas, his seven grandchildren and his sisters, Maureen Robarge, Linda Taylor, Janet Perry and his brother David Waryas.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 7:00pm at Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home in Bellows Falls, VT.
