1924 - 2015 BRATTLEBORO Jean Kathryn Bozetarnik, 91, formerly of Southern Avenue and a lifelong resident of Brattleboro died Friday afternoon, September 25, 2015 at the Thompson House with her family at her side. Mrs. Bozetarnik was born in Brattleboro on July 6, 1924 the daughter of Nelson and Lillian (Swenson) Langua. She was raised and educated in Brattleboro attending Saint Michael's Parochial School later graduating from Keene High School, Class of 1942. She later attended the former Holyoke Business School. Mrs. Bozetarnik proudly served her country in the U.S. Army during the Occupation period at the close of World War II where she met her future husband. She had been employed as a nurse's aide at Eden Park Nursing Home for 12 years. A devoted homemaker, her life centered around her family. A devout Catholic she was a lifelong communicant of Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church. She also held membership in the American Legion, Brattleboro Post #5. Of her leisure time activities she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, was an avid reader and especially enjoyed time shared with her family and friends. On December 7, 1946 at Saint Michael's Catholic Church she was married to Casimir F. Bozetarnik who predeceased her on November 3, 1991. Survivors include four sons, Casey Bozetarnik and wife, Patricia of Brattleboro, Martin Bozetarnik and wife, Deborah of Dummerston, Barry Bozetarnik and wife, Cecilia of Brattleboro and David Bozetarnik and his wife Migari of Dubai,UAE, one daughter, Marcia Hansen and husband Jeffrey of Fair Oaks, CA, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Additionally she leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Lillian Levreault, and Irene Adelstein. FUNERAL NOTICE: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10a.m. at Saint Michaels Catholic Church. Committal Rites and burial with full military honors will follow in Saint Michael's Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Brook's Memorial Library, Main Street, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
