1948 - 2015 BROOKLINE, VT Jeanne Marion, 67, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, November 17, 2015. Jeanne was born in Scranton, PA on April 15, 1948, the daughter of James P. and Joan A. (Durkin) Marion. She was raised and educated in PA, NY, MD and MA and graduated from Our Lady of the Presentation Academy in Newton / Brighton, MA, Class of 1966. Jeanne graduated from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA with a B.S. degree in Medical Technology in 1970. She earned her Master's degree in Medical-Social Rehabilitation & Counseling in 1974 from Assumption College in Worcester, MA. Jeanne's healthcare career was many-faceted. For many years she worked as a private gerontological consultant and trainer and she was a licensed certified social worker. She was Director of Social Service at Pilgrim House Nursing Home in Peabody, MA. Jeanne was supervisor of the hematological laboratory at Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA and head of the clinical laboratory at Damon Labs in Norwood, MA. She was a co-founder of Horizon House Mental Health Center in Northboro, MA and a medical psychotherapist at Eliot Community Mental Health Clinic in Concord, MA. At the time of her death, Jeanne worked as a medical technologist at Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend and as a dark-phase microscopy specialist at Sojourns Community Health Clinic in Westminster. Previously she worked 16 years in the laboratory at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. Jeanne also worked in the laboratory of Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, NH. She was highly skilled in her work and was a patient teacher and inspiration to her colleagues. Jeanne was an entrepreneur at heart; she loved her gardens and a good adventure. She was known for her mischievous sense of humor and was a spirit of friendship, love and grace. She cared for her family and friends with a joyful heart all the days of her life. Jeanne leaves her brother, James (Jim) Marion and husband Lucious Green of Hyattsville, MD; two sisters, Ann Marie Scalea and husband John of Great Falls, VA and Kathleen Gagne and husband John of Worcester, MA; sister-in-law, Mary Lou C. Marion of Yarmouth Port, MA and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael J. Marion, in 1998. A celebration of Jeanne's life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 in the sacred space of the former Church of Abundant Life, 156 West Street, West Dummerston, VT.
