Joan M. Provan

1926-2015 TITUSVILLE, FLA A life journey which began in the countryside of England ended in Florida on June 1, 2015 when Joan M. Provan, aged 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep. Mrs. Provan was born in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, England on March 3, 1926, the daughter of Frederick and Doris Barry. She was raised and educated in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. Joan met her future husband, Robert S. Provan, during World War II when he was stationed in England with the United States Army. The couple was married on August 11, 1945. Joan returned to the United States with Robert and became a United States citizen. Her faithful and devoted husband of 49 years predeceased her on October 8, 1994. A fun loving, warm hearted woman, Joan was known for her spirit of friendship, always offering everyone the full hospitality of the family home. She was a dedicated wife, mother and friend. Joan loved the ocean, birds, and the outdoors. Nothing was more important to her than quality time with family and friends. She visited her family in England throughout the years to keep the family ties strong. Joan is survived by her youngest son, Robert A. Provan along with his wif,e Maria Elena Provan and their two children, Alexandria Jacqulyn and Brandon Patrick Provan. She is also survived by her oldest son, Kenneth J. Provan. Arrangements will be shared with immediate family and friends for her final service. Burial will take place in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland, Vermont where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. The Provan family wishes to acknowledge the stellar services provided by Hospice and the outstanding support of Mrs. Jacqulyn (Allen) Kenney, her family and all of the many friends of Joan and her family.
