Josephine (Young) Lea Obituary
Brattleboro, VT - Josephine Y. Lea passed away on February 2, 2018 at the age of 94. She was the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Sweet) Young of East Corinth, VT. Josephine graduated high school from the Bradford Academy. She earned her nursing degree as a Registered Nurse from Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing. She married Robert K. Lea and the lived in Brattleboro all of their adult lives.

Josephine was employed by Brattleboro Hospital as a nurse and as a Clinical Instructor of LPNs for Thompson House School of Nursing. She was appointed Assistant Director of Nursing at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and served as Acting Director of Nursing until her retirement from BMH. After retirement from full time employment, she worked for several local doctors' offices. Josephine was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, golfing and traveling.

Josephine was predeceased by her loving husband, Robert K. Lea. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Lea Porter and her sisters Betty Kelaita and husband Joe, and Ruth Iaia and husband Bill.

Josephine is survived by her daughter Robyn Lea Bugbee and partner Robert Pezze; brother Neil Young and wife Louise, brother-in-law Hazen Spaulding, Sister-in- law Emmy Lea, grandson Jared Porter and wife Peg, grandson Christian Porter and partner Shannon Cappen, grandson Scott Bugbee, great-grandson Eli Porter, several nieces and nephews, and many life-long friends.

A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family
