1925 - 2015 Kathie (Katsy) Moriarty of NE 3rd Ct. in Boca Raton, FL, died on May 7, 2015 at the Boca Raton Atrium where she lived for the last year. She was born on June 3, 1925, in Brattleboro, VT. Her parents were Bernard Haus and Alice Long Haus. She lived with her mom, dad, and brother, Bernie, at 8 Allerton Avenue and graduated from St. Michael's High School in Brattleboro. She also graduated from the University of Vermont in 1947 and went on to teach French, Spanish, and English as a Second Language. Kathie married Jim Moriarty in 1948. The family moved to Annandale, VA, in 1963 and she taught for 20 more years for the Fairfax County Public Schools. She loved teaching and interacting with people. She shared her love of French and French culture with everyone. Kathie also enjoyed meeting students from around the world while teaching ESL. She and Jim owned a luncheonette-newspaper store in downtown Essex Junction, VT. Both were involved in political action and community service. Kathie lived in Vermont, VA, and Boca Raton, FL. She loved friends, exercise class, Alpha Chi events, and political action. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and often visited her friends and relatives in Brattleboro, spending time at Spofford Lake. Kathie is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Brown (Art Brown), her son, Michael Moriarty (Dorothy Moriarty), her son-in-law, Ralph Nordin, her grandchildren, Patrick Brown (Edan Lepucki), Stephanie Brown, Andrew Brown (Anissa Brown), Kevin Brown, Emma Nordin, and Sean Moriarty, and her great-grandson, Dixon Brown.
