1936 - 2015 WESTMINSTER, VT. Laura S. Leonard, formerly of Stamford, CT passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at her home from vascular dementia. Born on Jan. 6, 1936 to the late Barney and Wanda B. Wasicki. Laura worked in Kings Department Store as Personnel Manager, and was self employed as owner of Laura's snack bar in Bowlarama for 23 years. Laura was a great cook and in 2013 was named co Citizen of the Year in Westminster along with her partner, Nancy. Together they created "Souper Wednesday" which is a Wednesday community soup lunch open to everyone. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. She is survived by her spouse and partner of 48 years, Frances (Nancy) Dalzell, her son, James Leonard of Bellows Falls, VT, her son, William Leonard (Barbara) of Wilmington, DE., her brother, Stanley (Gabrielle) Wasicki of Brattleboro, VT, and her brother, Joseph (Sheila) Toto of Port Charlotte, FL. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Scott, Jordan, Kimberly and Lisa Leonard as well as several nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased by her daughter, Linda Hawkins of Houston, Texas, her step-father, Ralph Toto, her brother, George Grabowski and her sister, Joan Yankowski. There will be a memorial service held at the First Congregational Church of Westminster, 3470 U.S. Route 5, Westminster, VT at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2015.
