Lawrence "Larry" Cobb, of South Burlington, Vermont died peacefully in the company of his family on Monday morning, August 21 2017 after a long and full life. He was 94 years old.

Larry was born and raised in Brattleboro, Vermont by his parents Richard Cobb and Lelia Lampson Cobb. After graduating from Brattleboro High School in 1942, he attended Tufts University to study Electrical Engineering. During WW II, partway through college, he became a Seaman in the Navy. After the war, he continued his education at the University of Vermont, earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 1949.

Throughout his 40+ year career, he worked as an electrical engineer specializing in radar systems for a number of different companies, moving frequently as the jobs took him around the country: New Mexico, Texas, Seattle, California, Kansas, then back east working in Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, and Long Island. He also worked abroad in Greenland and England. He was working in Florida when he eventually retired.

Larry is survived by his former wife Leona Rodgers of Shelburne, VT; his daughter Llynda Bigalow of Shelburne, VT; his son Richard Cobb of Waterville, VT; his daughter Susan Engle of West Virginia; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son-in- law Charles Bigalow of Shelburne, Vermont, and brother Maurice Cobb of West Newfield, Maine who died at the age of 97.

Private family memorial services will be held this fall.
