Guilford - Leon W. "Lee" Brunswick, 65 of Jackson Road, died early Wednesday morning, October 4, 2017 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Leon was born in Florida, New York on April 15, 1952 the son of Leo and Josephine (Slesinski) Brunswick. He was raised and educated in Florida, NY and was a graduate of John S. Burke Catholic High School in Goshen, New York, Class of 1970. He went on to attend the State University of New York/Morrisville where he received as Associates Degree in Journalism, graduating in 1973.

Leon had been employed as an autobody technician for Demco Autobody in Guilford. Previously he owned and operated Norm's Autobody in Guilford for many years.

He was the proud recipient of the Guilford Citizen of the Year Award and for several years served as a Scout leader for Troop #403 in Guilford.

A faithful and devoted husband and loving father, Leon was known for his spirit of friendship.

Of his leisure time activities, he loved the outdoors and enjoyed snowmobiling, hiking and gardening.

On September 14, 1973 in Earlville, New York he was married to Suzan Honczar who survives.

Besides his wife of 44 years he leaves one son, Dale Brunswick of Guilford, two brothers, Donald Brunswick of Windsor, New York and Timothy Brunswick of Florida, New York, two sisters, Joan Kissinger of Florida, New York and Patricia Higgins of Bluffton, South Carolina. Additionally, he is survived by his mother-in- law, Elisabeth Costigan of Guilford and Many nieces and nephews Leon was predeceased by a sister, Leona Harter.

SERVICES: The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 AM at Saint Michael's Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Justin Baker, pastor, celebrant. A reception will follow the services to be held at the American Legion on Linden Street. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery in Guilford. Friends may call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 6 P.M.

Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, 17 Belmont Avenue, Brattleboro, VT 05301 or to, Visiting Nurse Assoc. & Hospice of VT & NH, 88 Prospect St., White River Jct., VT 05001.
