1919 - 2015 ORLEANS, MA Lois A. (Gould) (Taylor) Sinclair, 96, a long time resident of Orleans, MA and the Hilltop House in Brattleboro, VT, died peacefully May 15, 2015 at Thompson House in Brattleboro after a happy and active life. She was born in Boston, MA on February 26, 1919, a daughter of the late Harold & Edith (Dean) Gould. Lois graduated from Boston Trade School for Girls with a concentration in Commercial Arts. Her professional life included many book keeping positions and working for the Cape Cod National Seashore. Lois was very committed to her family and her faith. She was involved in many church activities throughout the years including Youth Fellowship at the Federated Church of Orleans. She was a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years, belonging to Orleans Chapter #201, Masona Chapter #134, and Bingham Chapter #30. She held many positions, which included Worthy Matron of the Orleans Chapter, Deputy Grand Marshall and Deputy Grand Matron. She also traveled extensively with Eastern Star and made many lifelong friends. Her other interests included the Business & Professional Women's Club of Orleans and the Highlanders Theater Group. She loved the beach, the Red Sox and her cat, Missy. Lois was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Ronald L. and wife, RuthAnn Taylor of Tyngsboro, MA and their children: Holly, Gregory & Katelyn, stepsons, Paul D. and wife, Laura Sinclair of Pasadena, MD and their children, Steven & Paula, Gary M. Sinclair of Westminster, MA, and his children, Katrina & Michelle; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Sinclair of Bernardston, MA and her children, Travis, Kerri & Kelley; along with seven great-grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews, and friends. Lois was predeceased by her late husband, Howard C. Sinclair, stepson, James H. Sinclair, sisters, D. Virginia Fitch and Jacqueline E. Ormsby. SERVICES: A memorial service will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 at the First Congregational Church of West Brattleboro at 2 p.m. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macular Degeneration Foundation or the Windham County Humane Society.
