1958 - 2016 Lori C. Amidon, 57, of Putney Mountain Road and a lifelong resident of the area, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, March 19, 2016 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital following a courageous five year battle with cancer. Lori was born in Brattleboro on August 26, 1958, the daughter of Ronald and Doris (Wagner) Clark. She was raised and educated in Brattleboro and was a graduate of Brattleboro Union High School, Class of 1976. She had been employed as an assistant supervisor at the Richard's Group Insurance for over 35 years, joining Hoffman & Clay Insurance Agency following her graduation from High School. Lori had a deep love for animals, especially horses, and was known as one of the finer horse trainers in the Tri-State area. Throughout the years she owned several of her own horses. Additionally Lori enjoyed camping and time shared with her family. She was a devoted homemaker and excellent cook. On August 10, 1991 at First Congregational Church in West Brattleboro she was married to Donald A. "Sam" Amidon who survives. Besides her faithful and devoted husband of almost 25 years she leaves two step-daughters, Lisa Marie Mussoni and husband Jim of Montague, MA and Spring Marie Amidon and fiancee Kendra Plank of Omaha, NE; a sister, Shelley Sparks and husband Jim of Brattleboro; one brother, Timothy Clark and wife Susan of Ringwood, NJ; three nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by a step-son, Chad Amidon who died in 2009. FUNERAL SERVICE: A memorial service in celebration of her life will be conducted Thursday at 1:30pm at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home with Rev. Lise Sparrow, pastor of Guilford Community Church, officiating. A memorial gathering/reception will take place at a later date to be announced by the family. Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home Wednesday from 7 to 9pm. Memorial contributions in Lori's name may be made to Gerda's Animal Aid, Inc. P.O.
